Technical Accounting Manager - Day Rate Contract | Inside IR35
Finitas have partnered with a leading Lloyd's Speciality (Re)insurer who're looking to onboard an SME Technical Accounting Manager to apply their regulatory and accounting expertise to carry out high value and complex accounting activities in relation with delegated underwriting authority limits
We're interested in speaking to fully-qualified accountant SMEs who're highly analytical and confident contractors with substantial insurance experience, particularly those who've worked in a technical management capacity within speciality (Re)insurance / across the Lloyd's and London Insurance market.
Contract Information:
- Contract Length: Initially, 6 months
- Rate: £600 - 750 per day, depending on experience (Inside IR35)
- Sponsorship: Not available.
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Patterns: Hybrid, 2-3 days per week in London offices
Key Skills & Experience:
- Fully ACA, AAT, CIMA and ACCA Qualified, with substantial, relevant post-qualification experience
- Technical Knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP and proven ability to carry out high value, complex accounting activities in accordance with delegated authority limits
- Ensuring team compliance wiht internal / external regulatory guidelines
- Contribution to optimisation across capital, risk, financial and historical metrics
- Able to conduct and present analysis to senior leadership
- Proven ability in contributing and implementing functional strategies, supporting delivery of key business targets and helping to prioritise operational deliverables.
- Ability to manage strategic plans and provide support to the wider finance teams.
- Be capable of undertaking a broad range of decisions in relation to operational processes, and systems / documentation maintenance.
- Support the integration of regulatory / legislative requirements - including compliance and effective risk management
- Working knowledge of London Market Operations Lloyd's, LPC, IUA, etc)
- Working knowledge of ceded premium, investments, expenses, claims, FX processing and relevant documentation.
- Insurance regulatory domain knowledge, including FCA
- Controls experience, particularly in relation to trial balances
- Able to monitor and advise on plan variances and assist operations teams with implementation of strategic plans in line with the wider business strategy
- To be able to adhere to Finance Standards, procedures and policy - minimising risk, and increasing efficiency (good practice)
- Strong internal/external stakeholder management with brokers and business partners
